AM studied at the Architectural Association between 1973 and 1978. On leaving the AA she spent 3 years with A & P Smithson and in 1981 joined Will Alsop & John Lyall.
In the ‘80s she ran her own west end based architectural practice with Gus Hutcheson.
In the ‘90s AM started painting and to date her working life has been shared between ongoing involvement with Alsop projects and painting, to commission and for exhibition.
As well as architecture and painting, AM has taught architecture and spatial design since 1983, at the AA, Central Saint Martins, Canterbury and (currently) Oxford Brookes.
